Local knowledge
Without hesitation, the biggest and most precious attraction in Killarney is Killarney National Park. Killarney National Park has 10,000 hectares of beautiful nature, hiking trails, bike paths, and amazing views. Add to this a bit of history and traditions and you get an area worth visiting on your hen weekend. In 1981, specialists from UNESCO also recognised the park as a biosphere reserve.

How to get to Kilkenny
Killarney station is located only 5 minutes walk to Killarney centre. The bus station is situated right beside the train station. The nearest airport is Kerry airport which is located 15 minutes drive from Killarney town. Kerry airport serves daily direct flights to the UK and Germany and also daily national flights to Dublin International Airport.

From Dublin – 308km
By car: Take N7 national road towards Kildare, then M7 motorway towards Limerick, followed by N21 national road to Killarney town. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes.

By bus: There are a few bus services that operate daily between Dublin- Killarney. Bus Eireann departs from Bus Eireann station and stops at Killarney bus station. Or Dublin Coach that departs from Dublin City Burgh Quay and stops on East Avenue Road in Killarney.

From Galway 208km
By car: Take M18 motorway from Galway, followed by N18,N21, N22 and N71 national road to Killarney. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.

By train: There is no direct train from Galway to Killarney. You could take a train from Galway train station to Portarlington and from there take a train towards Tralee that stops that stop in Killarney. The journey takes approximately 5 hours long. For more details please check Irish Rail.

By bus: There is no direct bus from Galway to Killarney. You could take a bus from Galway to Arthur’€™s Quay in Limerick (City Link) and from there take another bus to Killarney, for more details please check Dublin Coach.

From Cork – 87km
By car: Take N22 national road from Cork towards Killarney. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours.

From Belfast – 470km
By Car: Take M1 motorway from Belfast towards Dublin, followed by M50 motorway. The take N7 national road towards Limerick, followed by M7 and M20 motorway to Killarney. The journey takes approximately 5 hours

The Railway Hostel– is a perfect accommodation for a hen group on a budget. This hostel is located beside the railway station, only a few minutes walk to Killarney centre. If you like spending time more actively, another great outdoor activity in Killarney is kayaking. This activity guarantees beautiful views on the lakes and waterways of Killarney. You and your hen ladies will have some time to bond with nature and of course time to get to know each other better. This activity is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

There are many nice places to eat in Killarney. You could pick a lovely 1-course meal option at Eviston Hotel or if you fancy a proper feast then 2 or 4 Course meal options at Scotts Hotel is a perfect option for your hen group.

If you are more fan of Italian cuisine, then a 2-course meal at Milanos might just hit the spot as well. This meal option includes a starter and main and comes with a glass of wine.
