From Dublin – 129km
By car: The best and the fastest option is to travel through the N7 / M9 motorway. The journey takes approximately 1.5hours.

By bus: There is a daily bus service from Dublin to Kilkenny, buses depart from Dublin’s central bus station, Busáras. For the timetable and more details please check Bus Eireann. Or you could take another bus service Route 600 operated by Dublin Coach that departs from Burgh Quay Dublin.

By car: The faster road to Galway is driving though the N62 national road, followed by the M6 motorway. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours.
By train: To take a train from Kilkenny to Galway, you need to take a train from Kilkenny McDonagh towards Heuston Station and change trains in Kildare. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes. For more details please check Irish Rail.
By bus: There is no direct bus between Kilkenny and Galway. Cork – 155km
By car: Take the M8 motorway towards Cork. The journey takes approximately 2 hours.
By train: There is no direct train from Kilkenny to Cork, you could take a train from Kilkenny McDonagh towards Heuston Station and change trains in Kildare towards Portlaoise and from there change train to Cork. The journey takes approximately 5 hours.
Belfast – 291km
By car: The fastest route is to take the M1 motorway then M50, followed by N7 and M1 towards Kilkenny. The journey takes approx 3 hours long.
By train: To take the train from Belfast to Kilkenny, you need to take the train first to Belfast Lanyon Place station to Connolly Station and then take a Luas( tram) to Heuston Station followed by the train to Kilkenny McDonagh station. For more information, please check Irish Rail website.
